Default getting more out of my 5.2

I am sure you guys get a lot of these threads about this, but I have some questions after reading some old threads. I am looking to get better performance out of my 5.2L, and wanting to know what a good first mod would be. I have been reading a lot about the Fastman throttle body. Any pro's or con's? will i see any improvement out of a stock truck? I guess im looking for opinions.

get a 360 for starters...theres way more you can do to the 360's.

get a junkyard 360 engine, and have it as a project and build it up so you dont have to take your truck off the road.

Good point. Best thing to do would be to start small. It's better to work on things that need to be worked on than add more to it. Point being, before adding performance mods check your plenum for leaks. If it has one, fix it, check your TC for slack, TS, etc, etc. Do a tune up with plugs, wires, cap, coil. They may not give you HP, but they will make your truck run a light smoother.

No use spending $$$ on something that is going into a broken vehicle.

Heres what I would do, starting first with

1.) Check for plenum leak, if leaking, get it fixed, that will be your biggest gain in not only performance, but also mileage.
2.) Get an exhaust of your choice, if the plenum leak was pretty severe, also consider a hi-flo cat as your stock one is probably toast (And is a great upgrade anyway even if your stock cat is still working properly)
3.) SCT, or Super Chips tuner.. (Get rid of the death flash, if you do not know what the death flash is, search for it, there are millions of threads on what it is, and how to find out if you have it.)
5.) Fastman TB along with a 14x3 air cleaner.

Just know, even with those mods, your not going to be making ground shattering power haha, but you will notice a big difference from where you are now if your pickup happens to be stock. Throttle response will be improved greatly, low end torque will be improved greatly, and your truck will sound great!
