auto to manual swap

Default auto to manual swap

hey guys... ok, just talked to aamco, and this freakin trans they think blew another band... nd its still stock motor, i didnt een put power to it..

how hard would it be to put in a manual trans to my mud machine? thinkin NV4500

edit... ok, did a search, and found it is alot of work to put a NV4500 or 3500 into this truck... what about a 727? seems to be somethign else to lookinto because i have heard of a few people now doing it..

what do i need? for the 727

the NV4500 has a jam nut that comes loose in the 5th gear and can get caught in the gears aka killin the tranny. if you do decide to go with this tranny, have that jam nut tac-welded in.

no, the 4500 seems to be a very difficult swap in... so i am lookin to do the auto 727 trans..

Seems to me it'd be more difficult to swap in a 727 than a 4500. There's no ram PCM available for the 727, but there is for the 3500 and 4500. So if you swapped in the 727, you'd have a constant CEL due to the computer not being able to locate the transmission.

ok, well, i guess ill just deal with the 46re until i go full mud rig with this one... in which i will put the top loader 4 speed behind it.. and by it, i mean a built azz 440 with hood headers

Search some more for nv3500. This questions pops up fairly often. The consensus is to find a donor truck and start swapping. Good luck

yea, if i get a donor truck, i dont know what would be easier, swaping the manual to my truck, or jsut making my truck into the donor... i dont know, what trucks came with the 3500?
