Truck wont run after clearing code!
I just disconnected the negative battery for 2 hours to clear the check engine light, and now the truck has a hard time starting, but will start and die. I thought it might be low on gas and it was on a hill, so i filled it up to quarter tank and put it on a flat surface.
I can keep it running if i put my foot on the gas pedal, but once i let go it dies.
help?!?
its a 99 ram V8, its been having trouble on cold starts lately, takes like 3-4 seconds of cranking

Not sure of the code, but it was for speed sensor, and the ABS light came on, i just wanted to see if it would go away

ok a few things.
you can clear the codes a lot faster by disconnecting neg battery cable and turning on the headlights for 30 sec. the headlights drain the capacitors that hold pcm memory.
a weak battery plays holy hell with the sensors on these trucks. clean your battery terminals and charge or jump the battery if needed. you need close to 12v at the battery before cranking and 14v when running. with fully charged battery and reset pcm, it should run fine on pcm default values. if all this is fine, you may need to remove the IAC and GENTLY clean the pintle and well of any gunk. there should be a very nice clean hole in the well for air flow. this can get gunked up. do NOT push, pull, twist the pintle or else you'll break it. if all this is fine you may have an IAC or TPS problem. don't replace anything unless you have the battery tested first, as a weak battery can cause all of this.

my battery terminals were pretty corroded so i did a quick cleaning but it still didn't work, i tried it 2 hours later and it works fine, but then when i drove it, at every stop sign it just died.
after driving it a little bit i think the computer relearned and it seems fine now, but we will see..
thanks!
