I don't believe that video yea it "simulates" a head-on collision but still all those trucks hit a concrete wall not another car or truck head on

Yep, I've taken off the alternator, PCM, and basically the whole interior. The engine and transmission itself were done though.

As for the video, I think it simulates more of a worst worst case senario: the car goes 40mph into an offcenter, immovable object that is fairly low to the ground; makes me think of an uppercut punch under one's ribs.

It doesn't matter what smashes as long as the passenger compartment stays intact. Vehicles are made to "crumple" hence the term crumple zones. They do that to absorb the impact. Its made to do that back to the A post/firewall then stop
