surging turns in 4wd
it did the surge or hop dance turning into a parking spot in a plowed parking lot... i dont often use the 4wd and have only been using it recently with all the snow we've been getting... would it be safe to assume that if i dont make any more sharp turns i'll probably be alright? how do i check the ujoints to see if they are "good" or "bad?"
yes, if you stop, yoru fine... chances are, just go underneith... if they look like they are severly worn, they are easy enough to replace... or you can grab the things that they attach them too... and see if they wiggle...
but you should be fine... you would have other symptoms if you had bad joints

Its not causing any damage if thats what your question orginally was. i mean you dont want to go doing doughnut's in the parking lott on dry pavement but pulling into a parking spot isnt going to hurt your truck
yea.. grab right ahold of it and give her a shake... if ya got wiggle, you got bigger problems.. lol, im kidding, lol but just stick a few fingers in, and try to move them... you shouldnt be able to
I wouldn't say that it's "normal" for it to bind on turns; even though a good working 4X4 will bind on some tight turns, it's not good for it to bind.
So, before you come to a turn on a hard surface, pop it back into 2WD just before; then put it back in to 4WD after. Remember, you can switch back and forth between 2 and 4WD while moving, up to 50mph.

ok, not to be rude, or an azzhole... if the 4wd is working correctly, it will ind on a harder surface... cause both front wheels are turning at the same speed around two differant size corners...
