surging turns in 4wd

yea it could eventually lead to damage, but nothing i would worry about cause it is designed to do that, in order to not break...

and yea, it wasnt ment to be believeable... lol

If the front is an open differential like the rear axle, why the surging/shaking? As far as I can figure, it should let the front tires spin at different speeds in a turn and keep everything smooth.

In 4 wheel drive the transfer case locks the front and rear together and when turning the front and rear wheels turn at different speeds creating a binding.

there is where everyone thinks to much... no one thinks about the rear and front moving togehter

Thanks Charlie, I haven't had to tear into a transfer case since I put my SYE in my Wrangler and forgot how it all works. My bad.
