Ok, so now we`ve narrowed it down to two things:

1) your forward clutch is fried

2) your torque converter is fried.

Does it accelerate fine in reverse? As in doesn`t rev high before moving?

Doesn't sound too good, splurge and get a decent $60-$75 code reader to get a starting point at least.
Could probably rent one out from a parts store if you're $$ tapped, but since they aren't vehicle specific, they are
a good investment.

If you got charged $500 for a pressure sensor install, you got raped.
$50 part, 1 hr job, $50 for new tranny fluid & gasket - Thats $400 hr labor you were charged, scandalous.
These the same guys that did the rebuilding ?

You said the same thing happened months ago, and the pressure sensor install cured it ?
A guy that would charge you $400 hr labor would also slap in a lose, used sensor he had laying around instead of
putting in a new one, and also put in the cheapest tranny fluid possible, instead of the correct [and more expensive] ATF+4.
Might have even reused the old fluid, thereby putting another $50 into his pocket.
I'm smelling a rotten carp here, only substandard workmanship and/or scandalous intent can cause a tranny to fail months after a rebuild.

doesn`t even sound like it`s lasted that long... 9 out of 10 transmissions die on the bench. x2 on being ripped off on the gov pressure sensor and the possibility of being ripped off on the rebuild if it was the same shop. Take it to a different shop and have them run a pressure check on the trans. That will diagnose just about any possible problem...

I second everything said here...I changed my govenor pressure sensor AND soleniod as they are supposed to BOTH be replaced at the same time and replaced my filter ,gasket and 5 quarts or atf+4 all from local dealer for $203 plus and hour or so of my time and I never so much as touched a bolt on a tranny prior to this so...

was it you that spent the 1800 on a warranty through your uncles shop and $400 to have the sensor replaced or am I thinking of someone else here....there's so many multiple threads about the same thing here its impossible to keep everyone straight...

and about all the work ive had done to it...when it was the governor sensore, i went to the tranny shop the 2 peopel had referred me 2. they charged about 480$ but a new sensore...and fluid change.....and idk what else. this was about...4-5months ago when it was slipping really bad and i couldnt move. then just last month i got the tranny rebuilt bcause it wouldnt stay in o/d. that cost about 1800$ but i took it to a different guy in indiana. he did a fluid change rebuilt tranny...im hopin he put new filters in. he got it done in 2 days. but yea i took it to a different place, there other place wanted 2400$. i called the guy who rebuilt my tranny, and he said its probably electrical. idk...the cel light went off now, and it shifts fine....for now...

* CEL is basically an electronic rough guess as to what the problem is.
It could be multiple problems, it could be sporadic problems that come and go as you drive around.
Sometimes they can be highly accurate and helpful, other times confusing and elusive.
Thats a good sign tho that the problem went away. Even though it will come back, that tells you its probably not anything major.
Object now is to track it down and fix it, as otherwise the vehicle can't be considered reliable.
Hope the internal harness isn't shorting out, that can lead to a stinking can of worms, but its been known to happen.

* As stated, you took a jacking on the sensor install.
Anyone with even slight integrity would not have charged over $250 for something simple like that.
Even if they replaced both the gov & sol, as they should have, instead of just the gov, you still got robbed.

My feeling is is that a crooked tranny guy knows people get shook up when tranny problems occur - Often times, rightfully so.
They expect the worse, and possibly to shell out $2,500 or even have to get a new vehicle, so when they're told its only going to be $500 to replace some sensor, people are relieved, and gladly pay it without checking any further.
Guys like this should be flogged, you ought to consider if theres any legal action you can take against him.
At worse, chalk it up to a lesson learned, if you would have asked here what you might expect to pay, you would have known what to expect.
$500 it outlandish, I'd do it for nothing for someone I know, and maybe $100 + parts for someone I don't.

Damn, didn`t think of it... Did it back up just fine and only act sluggish in the forward gears? A bad shift solenoid can cause them to take off in 2nd gear... The PCM should throw a code for it too. Go to your local Advanced Auto and have them run your codes... Even thouh the light is off there should still be a history code stored. If they cannot get to the history codes make sure they DO NOT clear them and take it to a shop to get them read.
