I took the buzzer out but I am interested in using the chimer out of later models. Anyone do it?

the chimer in the 01 is in the Central Timing Module (CTM). its a box under the dash, to the right of the gas pedal, behind the cig lighter. inside the black plastic box is a circuit board with a chimer/speaker right in the middle. my gut feel is that it would not work on an older model. check your truck for a box in that location. about 2-1/2 x 4 x 1. lots of wires attached, about 20.

I don't think mine is like that. I removed the actual buzzer module itself from behind the fuse panel. Oh well haha.

Hi new owner, buzzer is driving me crazy. Found the buzzer in the fuse box. Looked in back found two wires that power it. Took apart the steering column, there are about 10 wires that plug into the ignition. Don't really want to mess it up in the first week that I owned it. If anyone has any details on the wire description and location of the wire that runs the door buzzer, it would make me almost as happy as if I could get the belt to quit squealing. Bought a tensioner pulley assembly kit and a new belt but have not had time to dig into it. That just annoys everyone else, but it to is on the short list. Have not searched the tensioner fix yet, doing it now hoping that someone has the answer to my buzzer wire. Thanks Joe

Just unplug the door sensor. That what I did when mine got pushed in. Driving at night with the lights on in the truck got old.

Mine has this. I also have been toying around with disabling my door chime. At first, I just unplugged that module, but found out later on while driving that this also disables the pulse wipers at least, only off and low/high worked. I am planning on tracing wires to see what I can do. I would be happy just to have the door chime gone, real pain in the *** to be workin on the truck with the music on because of the damned noise. I don't mind the chime for everything else, just when the door is open with the key in...

Has anyone else noticed there are three current "Buzzer" threads all in a row about the exact same thing??... seems kinda redundant to me... why does no one bother to look before reposting the same questions the same day... you guys would get better answers and quicker....
I mean come on... there's even two threads with the same name!
