How long would taping that button hold up so it don't make that noise?

Just remove the buzzer. That is of course if you don't care that a door might not be closed all the way.

it wouldnt... I just stick a soda bottle between the truck and sill to hold it closed if I and playing the stereo when camping and want the door open..

I thought about that but thought it chimed for lights instead of buzzed...

To tell you truth, I'm not sure of the sounds on a 97 and back. I do know that my 98 used to make the same sound as my 2000 does when door is not shut,key's in ignition, or lights are on. I do know, that no matter what year it is, at the least the door buzzer, is a good idea. Especially if you have kids.

If you wanna listen to the stereo just turn the keys to the on position. Buzzing stops and everybody is happy.

At least that's what I do
