Crappy hubs or just me?
So i have 33x12.50x15 tires and wheels. Wheels have a negative offset and my balljoints and hub bearing was going out slowly. So i went to go get them fixed after noticing it was getting worse. Turns out now both hub bearings went out and all 4 balljoints went out. I dunno but i seriously thinking about switching offsets of wheels so this does not hapen again total repairs will be about 800$.
My guess is it's a 1/2 ton (since you have 15" wheels). And probably the stock ball joints and bearings?
The ball joints SUCK on these trucks, even with standard size tires and wheels. They are wearable items, it was just their time to go. And if it cost you $800, you need to learn to turn your own wrench.

well its not going to be 800$ cause i know some peeps, but tonight it will be 555$. Both hub bearing went out and all 4 ball joints,. The hubs alone are running 200 a piece with like 100 dollars of labor thats the 500 right there. The ball joints would run me about 400 to have the same peeps put em in, but my bud pulled me off to the side said ill buy em for like 70 for each side (total 140) and a case of beer and we will eter the shop at night and save another 150$ for alignments. But i am seriously thinkin about gettin a positive offset on my truck now, damn thing aint paid off yet. Yep it is half ton. (15 inch wheels are after market though i am runnin 33x12.50x15, otherwise i think they'd be the 16 steelies. But the guy never included stock wheels when he sold it to me. When i switch tires and wheels i am goin with a 295 75 16 and fix the off set lift the fron 2 inches and the rear 4 inches, i got a leveling kit in the front and a 2 inch block in the rear.
How many miles on the truck? You running 8" or 10" wide wheels?
The ball joints are junk anyway. DC just won't fix them until some people start dying cause of them like in the Durangos. Do you wheel it heavily in mud and/or sand? That would help the wheel bearings to go out prematurely too. It could also have been heavily abused before you bought it, and now you're paying to repair problems caused by the previous owner's fun.

well for 12.50's you need 10 inch wheels other wise yeah, some bad news. So yeah, i am a tire tech. Truck was fine the guy never took it off road, i did pull a lot of people out of the mud though this winter, i am pretty sure thats what did it. Got the hubs put in today for 565. No i just gotta go buy the ball joints and a large case of beer and it will be riding like a caddy again........lol.
You can run 12.50 wide tires on 8" wide wheels, you just have to lower your tire pressure a bit so you don't wear out the centers of the tires as quickly. A lot of people use the narrower wheel to prevent sticks and roots getting caught in the beads while four wheeling. The downside is that the sidewalls of the tires are more prone to getting cut.
Wheel bearings are desigend to have the centerline of the wheel aligned with the centerline of the bearing. So with 10" wheels you'd have to have 6" of backspacing. With that combination on a 33x12.50 tire you'll probably be rubbing pretty bad on your control arms though.

By the way, I got the lifetime balljoints from Autozone for my 3/4 ton for $130 for the set. Got a ball joint press from Harbor Freight for $40, and that damn thing has come in handy on a TON of stuff I never thought I'd use it for.
dont have an autozone here, the best i can do is 160 for all 4 of them, and did you align it? For a case of beer i am getting 200 dollars worth of alignments for free. But if i where to pay it would be 389$.
Nope only place i rub is my mud flaps and i have to have the wheel cranked all the way. I have a leveling kit in the front with 2 inch block in the rear, its a negative offset thats why they dont rub.
