Go to the stealership parts department and ask. I'm sure they'd know. I'm stumped.

Maybe someone was trying to clog up your gas tank, I dont know what the ball would be for.

Its got me stumped too. If it was in the filler tube, wouldnt it keep gas from going in as quickly as it fills up? Its basically a ping pong ball only a little smaller. It is too big to have been put in from the filler tube. If other people have done the fuel pump, it would have fallen out of the filler tube when they disconnected it from the tank. The only thing I can think of would be its a part of the pump. If no one else know what it could be, I will just leave it out. I will call the stealer**** tomorrow.

Called the dealership, and the tech said it goes in the filler tube, and if you flip your truck, it is supposed to stop the fuel from leaking out. Maybe I will put it back in, even if I dont plan to flip it. I guess when I shoved the hose in to syphon, it pushed it into the tank. Just an FYI for anyone else that finds a green ball floating and thinks...WTF?!!

It's for anti syphining, my mothers explorer sport track has one in the filler neck. iv never seen one on a dodge before, must have been there when the PO bought the truck and either he found that he couldn syphon the gas out or some one tried to steal gas and used something to break the housing loose an the ball fell into the tank.

Edit: i guess it's not the same thing then

Well guys, I got my SCT in the mail today! I paypal'd the money Friday night, and got it on Wednesday (today), which if you have ever gotten stuff shipped to Alaska, you would know thats just shy of a world record! I will install it this weekend, after the Hughes is done. I will let you guys know how much it opens up the truck. I hope its night and day difference. Hemifever is great to work with, and I would recommend him to anyone thinking about a tuner! Full of info and knows what he is doing!
