Default Front-end help

Don't know where to start......

When I turn either right or left, I experience a "pulsing" feeling through the steering wheel - much like you would feel if you had 4x4 on when turning on pavement.

Tire pressure isn't an issue.

Any idea's I could look for before bringing it in?

4x4

Thanks

Are you in 4X4? Definitely check all U-Joints.

Could be tires, if you got knobby tires they'er going to do that sometimes when making sharp turns.

Check the steering box, even thou you feel a pulsing, does it turn smoothly? Does it feel like its binding?

i had the same exact problem that just got solved, i replaced ball joints, and wheel bearings, and it still did it. i just put new tires on last night and now its as good as new...my old tires were very worn on the edges. Not sure if this is you're problem but you'll find a few threads that ive made if you do a search that explains everything i did, and it turned out to be tires.

Thanks for all the responses.

I talked to a guy today that said it may have to do with a vacuum line, on the actuator? He said the actuator was on the axle and there would be a vacuum line running to it. He told me it may be stuck in 4x4 even though it says it's not. He continues saying if I pull the vacuum line off it would unlock the 4x4 - if that's the case something is freezing up in the actuator.

Well, I think I can check this but I don't see an actuator, or maybe I do but am not realizing it.

Anyone have thoughts on this diagnosis? Anyone tell me what I should be looking for on the axle?

Thanks much!
