gettin higher or 408??
aight so summer is comin up. here in florida got some big tourist BS. and its probly you im yelling at on the road driving. lol
anyway. i make some d*mn good money shuckin oysters on the beach an what not. and im thinkin of either adding another couple inches to my lift. get up to 12in suspension.
OR
buy me a nice 408 stroker. and just do some motor work. get the motor bored .30. give me some ponies.
what should be my go route???
i love mudding and stuff and could use the power, but also love doin it big and gettin dirty looks from smaller trucks like chevys. (not to brag) just funny to me. i enjoy.
OR
should i just buy a bunch of goodies, like some headers, aluminum drive shaft, new tires, maybe paint job. i cant decide im so excited

Now that the technicalities are out of the way... The 408 would be sweet, but consider this. It will cost you over $2k to build a 408 with parts and machining. When I say that, I mean an otherwise stock 360 with a 408 displacement. Cams, heads, etc. are going to put that price tag even more up. You'd be better off putting a cam and redoing the heads on your 360 than building a basic 408. The most power gains come from the upper end of the engine not the lower end. The saying "theres no replacement for displacement" only works to an extent. I don't know what your plans for an engine are, I'm just trying to inform you of what you'd be getting yourself into. There is no reason to spend the money building a 408 unless you are willing to go all out with the build, and thats going to cost $3500-4000+ if you do most of the work yourself. A cam and head/intake work will get you much further on a 360 for less money.
Trust me, I've done the research, I have a 360 block that will eventually be a built 408.
