Ya I kind of figured that out after the search lol. I've always just kind of guessed at the problems I had....I've worn the pages down on my chiltons! I really love this search feature on here though!!! It's awesome!
Yessir, lblair I was thinking about the tranny bands before. But I figured at 136,000 miles I might as well do a complete rebuild kit. Furthermore after reading some of the topics pertaining to transmissions...I'm thinking about new lines and a shift kit as well. I have lots more to read and understand.

You might wanna fill out your profile with your truck information and your location you will usually get alot better results from members if they can see what you're working with

UPdate!!!- Replaced the governor pressure switch and solenoid!! I was contemplating doing a tranny band adjustment...but I bought a cheap o torque wrench, that didn't seem to stop torquing when I had it designated to a specific setting. Mine was a ft per lbs..and I had to convert 72 inches per pound to 6 ft per pound. But it wouldn't click....So I just didn't bother to adjust them. Long story short...I drove the two hours on my morning commute and the tranny didn't skip once....so I suppose changing out the output speed sensor and the governor pressure switch and solenoid did the trick.
The DIY section is so awesome here, complete with pictures!!!
I do have one request here....On the plenum gasket...which I need to replace next, I noticed that the DIY section on this procedure did not have the pictures? Instead there were lil red x's where the pictures were supposed to see. No matter what I do, I cannot get the pictures to show....is there anything that can be done to get those pictures back up?
