Smile Went to the Autozone here is what their reader says.....

I watched the display. It read "Multiple Misfire" and "Misfire on cylinder 8" They said the multiple misfire would probably be cleared by adding some injector cleaner, i really doubt that but bought some since they were cool enough to come out and read the codes in the rain. They quoted me some plug prices but wanted to know the best plugs for these trucks and get you guys opinion on the codes. Are the E3's worth having??

Default This might help diagnose...

I have noticed this slightly outside of the truck as it idles or when I get out at a parking lot, but I pulled the truck in the garage and it has super high exhaust fumes. Nothing noticeable in the cab however. I went to the OBD-II site and found the codes I mentioned in previous reply .. As I don't have a ton of money after buyin the truck and tagging it, I am starting by just replacing the plugs themselves. I bought the Champion Copper plugs. I am going to do this within the hour and get back with you and let you know if it eliminates the miss.

I am now thinking that since I got the misfire on 8 code, that that is why it is jumpy in overdrive. ????

Do NOT waste your money on e3's. Get Autolight Coppers. good stuff.

Smile Got the plugs in, very nice difference

Runs and idles alot smoother, unplugged the negative cable and ran without a code for about 20 miles then the check engine light flashed and stayed off for about 5 miles and we went in to visit family and started truck back up to come home and got the check engine light again. Everything is closed so tommorow afterwork I will read the codes again at autozone and see if they are the same or different, but it still runs much better. Still some tranny issues. but that is another thread i'm sure.

Cool oh, forgot to mention and ask something else...

The plugs were horrible that came out. I am assuming that the plug closest to the firewall on the driver side is no. 8. Due to the fact that it was in the worse shape of all of them.

The plenum is blown, and the cat is clogged.
