Exclamation 5.9L crank into 5.2L block???

Hey guys,
I'm wondering if anyone knows if a 5.9L crank would fit into a 5.2L block. I currently have a 1995 Dodge Ram, 4WD, with a 5.2L/318 cubic in. and I'm looking to rebuild the motor. My intent is to increase the horsepower of the motor. Thanks in advance!

I don't think so. The two engines are very different intternally. the 5.9 crank is externally balanced and the 5.2 is internally balanced.

yeah but that balancing effects the crank which he is replacing. If I am not mistaken and I probably am it is the same block just bigger cylinders right? That is why when I bought my crate 360 long block I pulled everything off my 5.2 and it bolted right up. probably wrong you would have to have the cylinders bored out but I think it would fit.

Flywheel, flexplate and harmonic balancer are different but that is all outside the block.

Good question though.

I will look in my service manual to see if the journals are the same size. I will post later today.
