Nope. There isn't any provision to make the trans do what it is supposed to. If you have an RH, you need to replace it with another RH, or, just rebuild what you have.

That puts a 46RH into a place it hasn't been before, and all it needs to deal with is O/D, and TCC lockup. It still won't allow a 46RE into a spot it hasn't been before. You need a PCM to control it. It isn't just a simple matter of a couple of solenoids.

 

Theoretically, could he always just shift it manually, just like if the 8-pin connector was unplugged? But no OD.

 

With that kit, he could do manual 1-3, and then O/D, and TCC engage would be automatic. No TCC in third gear though, looking at how it is wired.

That said, shifting the gears like that on a column shifter would be a real drag.... better to just get the right trans.
