Fuel line quick connetor leak
I feel like an idiot for posting this but here goes...
I am in the middle of an engine swap and am having problems with the fuel line leaking at the fuel rail. The rail has the quick connector with the stainless latch clip style(not the kind that requires the special tool). I did remember to reinstall the o-ring but the line is loose and leaks fuel when the pump is activated. Any ideas?

I replaced the o-ring earlier tonight and it still leaked. Then I tried using two o-rings together just for grins, and it leaked less, but still leaked. Any way I cut it the fitting is still loose and I just cant figure out what is missing.
On a side note: If I push the fuel line into the connection it stops leaking.

Compare the nipples on the two fuel rails where the line connects and confirm they are the same. If they are then you need a new line. Also , if you have the kind that does not require the disconnect tool, there should be a yellow sliding clip that holds the line on. By any chance is one of your fuel rails plastic and the other steel ?

They are different. But the fuel line from the tank is different on each truck though. And this is the fuel line that matches up with this fuel rail, I'm sure of it. And I have the clip in there, it holds the line in but not very snug.
