Im rebuilding the rear-end in my '99 Dodge 4x4. Its a 9.25 trac-lok. Gears, bearings, and races are brand new.
I think I set-up the backlash and carrier bearing pre-load correctly I would just like a second opinion.
Here are a couple pictures of the contact pattern. Hopefully you guys can see it fine, I didnt use a whole lot of gear marking compound.
The last thing I want to do is take the pinion back out, I dont have any way to pull the pinion bearing back off if I need to install or remove a shim. So hopefully this is good enough.

 

Could add a .010 shim to bring the pinion back, just a bit.

Is it bad enough that you guys would tear it all back apart? If I have to take it all back apart I will have to spend the money on a pinion bearing puller...which isnt cheap.

 

It could start howling. How much backlash do you have?

 

Backlash is set at .007
