Default that is what i thought

It does turn of course, but you fear you'll cut your hand with how hard it is to turn it.

The old one or the new one? Either way, you should be able to turn it with one finger with a little bit of resistance.

also there is a spiral spring on the front of the clutch, and if that is not seated properly it will not engage the fan clutch. That spring heats up, and with it on its contact point, it will activate the fan clutch when it hits a certain temp.

I replaced my fan clutch because there was loud roar when i was taking off....so yes replace it, the fan clutch causes that roar your getting.

Default Thanks for all the help

I work at a school so the bus mechanic pulled mine off and put on the new one for twenty bucks! He has about 6 Rams, big dodge dude, and he said my fan clutch was as close to being locked up as any he had seen. He drove it for a while and thinks if I drop the pan and do a filter change that my tranny will smooth out. I hope to do that this weeken!
