Put 500 miles on today! Here is what needs fixed pronto!!!!
Hey, thanks already for the help you guys have given, and thanks ahead of time on this post!
Truck did fairly well. My brother in law rode with me today and he is a mechanic. With that being said he has never owned a dodge of any kind ever. He is a chevy man. But here is what he suggested.
When I accelerate my truck sounds like an airplane taking off until it shifts gears, he said common and that it was a fan clutch, he said my fan was turning same rpm's as engine and that is why it was so loud. He said that should be an easy fix.
He said he knows chevy trucks have lock outs on the torque converters and most of the models this part can be unplugged somewhere on the tranny and prevent the truck from jumping, but still allow it to go into overdrive. He said he for sure thought my lock outs weren't working properly and that if I could unplug them I should, as it would cause tranny wear.
Hope to get the door pins in asap, that was one noisy trip. Will get pics of that issue to post on my other thread hopefully 2morrow.
So my questions are this. Can I bypass the lockouts till I get a new tc, and would the fan clutch cause the loud "roar" to go away. It only quits roaring when I hit about 60 and ease into the highest gear.

Ok. I didn't screw with replacing it last night, but someone had mentioned spinning it and if it stops it is good.
Well i can't spin it. I can barely move it. Very hard to turn. So I went ahead and bought the new hd fan clutch but before I take all that crap off does that sound like it is the problem.
FYI, the problem I have is the truck sounds like an airplane trying to take off, fan has to be spinning same rpm's as truck.
