Can I unhook the lockouts on my 98 Ram?

i didnt think we had lockout tranny's i thought they stopped that with the 727's

Default they may have.

so i guess my question is, if after I change the fluid and filter and this still occurs what do I need to do to eliminate it.

We still have the lockout torque converters. After the tranny goes into overdrive, then the torque converter goes into lockup.

To the OP: I had a shake at highway speeds (55-65) where the torque converter would lock and unlock when I went over small bumps. Replaced the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) and remieded the problem.
