Can I unhook the lockouts on my 98 Ram?

I think he's talking about the lock up clutch in his tranny.... I saw something mentioned in another thread...

I have no idea if it can be disabled or not

Um, if you are talking about the hubs, then no. They are full time... the shafts are connected to the hub with splines.

Default no the torque converter

is making the truck shake cuz it isn't going back in when it locks out.

Have you changed your transmission fluid/filter lately? If so then what kind of fluid did you use?

Smile that will be this weekend

I've only had it since last thursday night, I haven't changed anything in it other than the oil and the plugs. Going to change the fan clutch tonight and hopefully the door hinge pins.

Find out if the previous owner put dexron fluid in the transmission (if you can). ATF 4 is what needs to be in the transmission and if you use dexron instead, you can experience "torque converter shudder".

By the way a Torque Converter does not have "lockouts". They have a lock up clutch that presses agiants the face of the torque converter to "lock up" the converter. This is not the same as stall, just so you know.
