Default Has anyone ever double stacked a set of rear leaf springs?

I have a 1998 2500 4x4. I have a extra set of leafs from another truck. They are identical to the ones I have on mine right now. I know about the longer u-bolts and the spring clamps. But has anyone else done this? I know it's going to ride rougher, I just want more height and be able to carry more weight. I don't want to buy just helper springs since I already have this set. I only paid $50 for the set. Any thoughts? pro's/con's?

Jack - Oh man, that's good stuff.

LilRed - I'm assuming you don't know what the spring rate is. Looks the same and is the same are two different things. Also, carrying more weight doesn't equal stopping more weight. No clue as to the amount of weight you want to carry but you will have to get everything ready to manage that extra weight.
