I would not put 1.7's if your going to put a cam in it, what stall TC do you have are you going to change stall.

1.7's are nice if you leave the same cam but if put the cam in you might as well buy the right one an save the money of the 1.7's

What rpm range are you trying to set the motor to run in?

My truck is a daily driver and a mudder on the weekend it has a 318 an i want more HP/torrq.. and i live in illinois the por state lol we dont had restrictions around here..

didnt know the info about the cams and RR's thatnks for the heads up lol....



and if you have the 318, the best thing you could probably do is stroke it, but i would say drop a 360 in it, because they have tons more upgrades available

Not to be Mr. Buzz Killington here, but you're going to have to compromise if you want it to both be a DD and a mud bogger.

For example: Sure, you'll want decent sized tires with nice treads for the mud, but without major $$$ for a gear change (especially if its a 4WD and you have to change both sets of gears), you're going to lose get-up-and-go for daily driving, not to mention gas mileage.

A compromise is fine, not bashing your idea at all, just making sure you realize that you can't have the best mudder AND the best DD in the same truck.

^ i do lol......ive gotten through everything ive tried so far (with new tires 265/75/16) but i do have the 4.10 gears in the front and rear (recipt for both installed totaled near $1500)
