transmission issues
Hi,
I have a 94 1500 that has some sort of tranny problem,
I was driving it and all of the sudden it stopped moving. The transmission had never slipped on me. It is not low on fluid. THe truck has 184k miles. I am not sure what went wrong but i would like to know. I am trying to sell the truck as is but i think if i just fix it it will be better.
It makes a slight wine when in drive and does nothing in reverse. neutral it does not do it either.
Once in awhile the truck will drive forward but only for a little bit. What do you guys think went wrong. Could it be the torque converter? Valve body? The pump?
Let me know if you have any ideas as i would like to fix this and get it sold cause i need the money.
Thank you,
Kody

I have yet to do that, I plan to drop the transmission within the week but i would like to have an idea of what it might be.
The thing that bugs me is that it wasn't slipping at all.
the transmission on my 2500 did this same thing but it broke an Input shaft. also there was no whineing.

pull the stick and smell the fluid. these trucks are also known for their governor pressure sensor
when the trans took a sh*t in my truck it was great, no signs of a single thing wrong, ever, and then i came out to go somewhere an it wouldnt move.......damn dodges

Only way to know what went wrong is to tear it down. Mine was whinning and eventually quite moving. Tore the tranny down and the one way clutch had grenaded. The clutch discs looked brand new. I think a lack of lubrication was the culprit. BTW, I don't think the 94-95 trucks have the governor pressure switch.
PO of my truckrebuilt tranny at 180K....said the torque convertor was shot, and the overdrive was gone...said it just dumped one day......hopefully this can give a slight idea since i have the 46rh as well.
