Default no reverse lights...help!!

I dont think my truck has ever had reverse lights since ive owned it, I figured it was the reverse light switch but I just put a new transmission in and and a new switch, what are my other options? I just put a set of small fog lights under my rear bumper that i'd like to wire in with my factory reverse lights, but that cant happen if im not getting power back there lol. all fuses are fine as well.
Thanks
Brad

You are going to have to trace the wires starting at the bulbs, all the way to the steering column. A ground wire could be the cause or you could have wires in the column chaffed especially if you have cruise. I'd look for the ground first, and if you have the tow package,it could be something related with the plug also.

I had this problem when I first got my truck 11 years ago.I took the bulbs out and cleaned everything up good, put it back together, and then there was light, and it was good.

i've cleaned til im tired of cleaning LOL, my next step is checking grounds you suggested zman...and if that doesnt work let the wire tracing begin, and if that don't work out i'll simply put them on a toggle and hope I dont forget to turn em off

Thanks guys!!

I have mine on a toggle and have it wired such that even if i forget to turn them off they turn off with the ignition, i have a lighted toggle switch and one day i got in my truck and noticed the toggle was on and i thought **** my batery is dead, but it wasn't . Been so long i couldnt tell how i wired them but followed a DIY from here many years ago similiar to above.

Check the wiring harness on the driverside frame behind the spare tire, there is a quick disconnect there and if it is broken or damaged in anyway water will get in there and short things out.
