Default looking at rams

Planning on getting rid of my '95 dakota and getting a ram. How do you like yours, pro's and con's, etc. All feedback appreciated.

LOVE my truck, it's been good to me for the last year I've had it. I'm sure you're familiar with the plenum, and some notable things to check in the Rams are the steering, tranny, and the dreaded 'deathflash' in the newer ones, 00 and up I think. All in all they are a good tough truck with limitless possibilities imho

There like every other older truck they have certain things that go bad and need replacing if your take care of it, you can keep it cheap to maintain if you drive like you stole it and like doing crazy **** get ready to spend some cash

I love my truck but its a tad slow, gonna fix that soon SCT

Cons brakes(fixed with bigger calipers), most have plenum problem(hughes kit, or as purpl says make your own), steering can be a problem but then again it is a truck, Heavy sons of b*tches, Heater core, CRACKED DASH problem and wind noise pretty loud once on the freeway.

Pros more power stock than most trucks of the time, does good towing, will take a beating, large interior, does good with crosswinds, looks good IMO, Offroad Package, stock infinity speakers, easy to drift(its fun just have to be careful)

all i have to say... look at my sig... i love my truck, and from the modified side of hte dodges... i love mine.. yes tehy have problems, but every vehicle does...

some of the pros i found being i go offhighway alot, if you disconnect the stock sway bar up front on the 1500, the suspention is great... flexs like hell, and these trucks somehow find traction when they honestly shouldnt...

some cons, the dashs do crack but you can just buy a dash carpet and never worry about it. the trans are not good, but if you drive normal, nd not like you stole it.... the trans will last a little bit. but they will go. the plenums do go, and with most, its an easy enough fix. they are a little under power in todays day in age, but when they came out, they pulled everything under the sun... theres a reason these trucks are still being used eveyrday for there pulling power... torque baby

like i said, i love my truck and will go anywhere with it... i dont get stuck very often and can still cruise at 75 mph down the highway and get not to bad of gas mileage

Love the dodge brand. Sure they have problems, but like anything else, they can be fixed with some money and patients. My trucks done everything I asked of it even when it should have given up, lol. The engines last forever with good maintenance. Like said above, they were the best truck around in there day and still are today.

Plan on spending more on fuel, unless your Dakota is a V-8. The guys on here get from 8 to 17 mpg. What model do you want?
