Suspension questions
yea but now i get to be a royal *** to the company... and hopefulyl get a remaned, not a rebuilt unti this time... and im going to tell them to put bigger **** in it... to hold up or i want money back.. lol
now i do believe i say i aint afraid of trimming to make tires fit lmao..that's how i fit the 35's HAHAHAHA yea they rubbed A LITTLE if it was flexed and turned all the way...but i just use my trucks to get to my huntin and fishin spots so no articulation really lol just mud
so a 2" leveling kit would do it? just the spacer that goes on top of the coil?
i need new shocks anyways..so should i get longer shocks for the front?
and does anybody have any CHEAP ideas for the rear? so i can haul my loads easier?
i have an idea that i have done on my toyota's..it's called the ZUK coil spring mod...it basically takes a 12" or 14" (your choice of spring rate as well) and puts it on top of the leaf springs between the leaves and the frame..and voila..instant lift and LOTS more load carrying capacity and it's 100% safe.....but idk if anybody has ever tried it on a bigger truck? lmao
would kinda be like an airbag for the 3/4 tons to help with towing the 5th wheels and stuff

and wouldn't i be able to just have different backspaced rims to take care of the rubbing problem?????
theres a guy selling a set of 285/75 Mud King XT's in springfield MO...with some aftermarket rims and he said his is allllll stock and it doesn't rub at all
still trying to figure out what i can do about the rear though to help me carry my loads better

it's Dad's truck and as long as it'll do 70mph he's kool lol
and if it's gonna be considerably slower with 33's...then dodge has done something wrong.....
hell my toyota aint very slow with 33's stock gears and a 4cyl/5spd....mind you it's got 4.10's but it has less than half the horsepower of the dodge...the 22R has about 100hp from the factory MAYBE...the '96 was 318 from the factory but has been swapped to a 360 (by the dealership) so it's got twice the power..
we're used to slow vehicles anyway lol
the old '02 diesel would run fine on the 35's and stock gears too lol but it's a whole different animal LMAO!
and what can we do about the 13mpg's that the '96 gets???? it has what looks like a single inlet dual outlet magnaflow exhaust...probably 2 1/8" pipe looks like..or something close...
would going to 3" exhaust with a CAI help out a little?
what else helps besides gears? if i could find a set of 4.56's i'd snag em in a heartbeat lol

Well, your Toyota is much, much, lighter than a Dodge Ram, Dude. As far as better fuel economy......don't expect much more than your getting now, and you'll ok. Also, if you fill out your signature, everyone will know what kind of truck your talking about. You'll get many more replies.
well...i keep tellin him to get another cummins like the '02 we had...but he won't do it lol..he said IF it breaks down...EVERYTHING is expensive to fix.
and yes my toyota is lighter (around 3600lbs actually...i had it weighed) but it only makes about 85-90 horspower around 3000rpm..it doesn't make the peak hp until about 5200rpm.
guess we'll just find out though, i'm sure it will be fine.

still haven't gotten the 33's yet, i'm gonna buy them for him this summer, he doesn't have the cash to spare and i will this summer, should go great! prolly just do a 2" leveling kit in the front, maybe 3" and do something to the rear springs..they sag WAY too much..
I'm running 33's on my truck with stock suspension and the only time I rub is when I crank full right at low speeds. Otherwise I have no problems with them. I am planning on eventually lifting my truck 2-4 inches but it wont happen for awhile.
