dont get me wrong, im not saying a 2wd truck is pointless. alot of people dont need nor want 4wd, and thats fine... i just dont see a point in lifting a 2wd dues to its still just a 2wd and your still going the same amount of places... but i can uderstand the whole crossmember clearnce, and bumper scrapin ground, i can understand that.. but a 5 inch kit on a 2wd...

I agree with you also. I wouldn't lift a 2wd either. It looks silly to me and thats coming from a 2wd owner. Leveling is a different story. I don't like my *** in the air

i can accept that... and to me a small lift is fine, get that little extra you need.

that is the point im trying to give... a level truck is just better... but a jacked up 2wd truck is stupid...

Well yea thats what I'm saying as well. I'm plan on putting 3" on. That'll give me about 4X4 height. That's in no way overkill with a lift for a 2WD, just enough to help me over ditches, field rows, washouts, etc. I don't plan on climbing a mountain with it...

I own a 2wd and believe that a small lift is ok its just when you go out and put 37" mudders and jack it up 12+ inches it makes no sense, their have been a couple times were I was at the point I needed a couple inches to go somewhere and ended up having to drive out of my way to go around a hill, wasnt going to risk tearing my truck up over 15 minutes.

The worst is that I know of a couple of trucks lifted up 5-8 inches with mud tires that are 2wd with an open diff(1wd) and while their stuck in a little mud spot I drive by with my street tires

I believe the 3rd Gen Rams were the first 1500 Dodge trucks to start coming with IFS from the factory. 2nd Gens were the last solid axle 1500 Dodge trucks.

If you live anywhere near the midwest, not having at least one 4x4 vehicle is just plain stupid IMO.

Yea, well. Here's one for you guys...

I couldnt afford it. So thats why i dont have it. (4wd that is) Some cant afford a 4wd. I would have got a 4wd ram but, i just couldnt find one in my price range. And thats some of the reason why you see people lifting a 2wd. Cause later on they may get some more cash to allow them that extra clearance. And yes, more clearance in a 2wd is needed some times. I can see 3 inches on a 2wd being OK. This is my Opinion tho.

Some of you are really consistant. lol I mean come on...How many times do you have to say it. We get it already man. We know you think its pointless to lift a 2wd and dont like it when you see it. (Not directed to anyone in particular)

I myself do think big **** mud tires and a huge lift on a 2wd is rediculous.... And accually if you have that much cash at once. You might can buy a 4wd. But again, Just an opinion Everyone has one.

THANK YOU! For once somebody is actually right. I've seen countless times when somebody who lives in the CITY, and has never even been on dirt, has a 20" lifted 4X4. And everybody who owns a 4X4, I know you've seen those guys too. I'm not saying living in the city means you can't have a lifted 4X4, but there are those few that seriously have no need for it. So why is it dumb that I need the extra clearance because 2WD's are notoriously low, but that guy with the lifted 4X4 is a BA because the most his truck has done "offroading" was hitting a 6" deep pothole on the pavement? I as well am not pointing fingers, but please stop saying it's pointless. Because if it was, I wouldn't do it. If those who thinks it's dumb were in the shoes of us 2WDers who had limited cash and had to live with what they got, they would seriously have a different perspective of the subject.

And 3" of lift is not overkill at all. It actually looks beautiful in my eyes...
