I am thinking of doing a remote filter, I don't like the stock location next to the manifold, the previous filter was burnt a bit from it.
Anybody else have this problem?
I havent had that problem at all. The paint on the filter looks nice and shiney all the way around when i take it off. No burnt spots, looks like it did when i put it on. Id check out everything real good and make sure your bolts are tight and somthings not loose. Somthing just about has to be wrong there. If the filter got that hot then so did the oil.
I do agree tho with the manifold being too close to the filter. I noticed this last time i changed the oil. But hey, dodge didnt see a prob with it i guess.
My filter is always dirty, but never burnt. Something else is going on there. Not to start the topic up again to much, but what brand of filter do you use? I can see a cheapo doing that maybe.
