Default Truck takes 6.5 Quarts?

Well,

According to the spec thread, my truck should take 5 Quarts of oil. When I do my oil change, it takes 6.5 Quarts of the good stuff with filter (stock size filter) in order to change it.

Did they offer aftermarket enlarged oil pans or something that could be installed, I just think it's weird that it takes so much.

Well you have to fill your plenum up too unless you fixed that Haha, actually my buddys truck did the same thing on his 2500. His manual said five, but he consistantly took 6 quarts every change. I am currently not aware of any changes as to why it would hold more, but that extra quart or quart and a half has to be going somewhere. You got me...

Mine takes 6 or more too. I have no idea why. I thought maybe the guy who had it before me might've installed a deeper oil pan...

Almost 6 qt in my 95 360 also. 5 qt shows it low all the time, 6.5 says overfilled.

This happened on my Ford. It came with a filter relocation kit. Could you maybe have this, or an aftermarket cooler or something?
