No aftermarket cooler, stock size oil filter, and this is at first fullup before I run it; my plenium is semi-fixed, but it dosn't dump right in there.

Could there be any possibility that your dipstick broke off, or someone stuck a different dipstick in? I dunno...my ideas might just be dumb since other people have had the same issue.

Not sure, dipstick isn't broken off and it looks like the one from other dodges I've worked on it just seems weird.

Just keep in mind if your truck is on a incline, and let the oil settle after starting it up for a min ,
from experience, it will take over night for the level to be right, " BE PATIENCE" from oil change after oil change of experience. if you wa nt to be dead on. ^& otherwise

Gonna start messing witht hat stuff next change, I was tight on cash so I did an advance special (Castrol Syntec Full Synthetic with a Bosch filter, $26.99 plus 2 additional quarts so like 40 bucks :/)

I do know there is a new pump/pan/gasket on there, so maybe there could be a bigger than normal pan? Dunno if they have them. Do need to work on getting larger Trans/Diff covers.

5.5 or more and mine shows a tad over the line on the stick. It drops a bit down after I run it and the filter gets completely full.

The PO of the truck had written with marker on the driver's side radiator support "6 quarts w/ filter". So I'm pretty sure he always overfilled it a tad.
