Clunking from the front end.
Alright im thinking it might be time for some U joint's for the front, iv got a thumping/clunking sound coming from the front end and i cant pin point which one it is and i also havent looked too deep yet as it's cold and wet outside so im not really interested in getting nasty right now.
But once i do goto replace it if that is the issue, cant i just press the pin out of the U joint with a couple socket's and a Clamp with out actually having to take the whole hub and everything off the truck. I really dont want to have to tear everything apart just to change the damn thing.

hahah WAY easier said than done bud......specially if they been in there a while. usually changing the front u joints turn into a project. i just did mine over the weekend....and the drivers one was so badly seized in there that i had to torch it out bc even the 2 ton press didnt budge it.
i hear your pain man, my weekend started with me hearing a wobble up front so i checked on it and it needed a wheel bearing, ok no big deal, well upon closer inspection durring the removal process i also needed an outer tie rod end, u joint, and brakes. and i still need an inner tie rod end. now she's all good again.
by all means tho try it......use a small socket for one side, and a larger than the cap sized socket on the other side with a C clamp and see what happens. my guess is that you will end up using choice words just trying to get the retainer clips out lol. but sh*t man give it a try and take pics along the way.....we all know how much fun pics are

well you dont really need retainer pliers, the clips on the u joint are on the bottom side of the cap rather than like the rear shaft where they are basically in the head of the cap. so all you need really is a flathead screwdriver and hammer, they are the "c" style halfmoon clips. make sure you pick up a can of elbow grease and a few beers and i think you'll be ok. but like i siad b4 buddy im honestly seriously doubting it can be done this way, but for arguement sake, sh*t yeah try it
i also think if your gonna try it, you should jack it up, and remove the outer tie rod from the hub so that you can move the hub from side to side easier and not have to start the truck to turn the wheels a thousand times while trying to remove the u joints, bc you need a good angle to get the joint out from the 2 shafts, follow me?
