seating the pass. axle seal
That's waht I figured but I also noticed in the service manual provided in FAQ by Laramie1997, it says to use 75w140. I just bought 6 jugs of 80w90 too. Dang...
I recommend down loading that to a USB stick. It should come in handy

Here is the tool that I made for driving the pass. side axle seal. To use it you have to remove the inner axle shaft to make room for the cap but it's not that hard to do.
(1) 1 1/2" Galvanized Cap cut the flanged part off and file the rest to match the seal. Drill 1/2" hole in center of cap. all took 5 min.
(1) 3/8" Floor Flange, perfect size for the outside of the axle tube.
(1) 3ft- all-thread. (only 2ft was needed but that's all Lowes had)
(3) 1/2" thread nuts, 19mm wrench
(1) 1'2" washer
This all came out to about $9

I know, everyones makeshift tools were so vauge. Except Sheriff's I just used his idea and instead of a slide hammer I figured I'd try this. Just make sure you back it off a few times to check the alignment of the seal.

I bought the kit from quad 4x4. The seals went in straight in about 1 minute with no problems. Now that I am done with it I'd be willing to sell it at a discount. It also came with instructions. It is for the Chicago Rawhide seals.
Those end pieces would be really easy to make on a lathe.
