That kind of scares me that you know all of them by first name lol! I'm sure I've spoken to all of them already. I've been driving them crazy because it's taken them 5 weeks to get the transmission here.

That's a good idea to pick up a used junked one for cheap and rebuilding it with all the goodies, and having it ready to put in. I'm gonna look into that. I have a feeling mines gonna take a dump here sometime ,been acting slightly odd here and there. Give us an UPADATE* with milage and how it's holding up in the future.

My tranny was rebuilt 20K ago....i want my new tranny to have all the best parts in it, so it may be a kind of long project...

found one at a junkyard in my area...its still in "working" order, as they claim

came from a 95 Ram 5.9 2500, 160K, and they are asking $250 at the boneyard....

you should flush your cooler and put a trans line filter in the return line.

Finally goth the b**** out today! I had a little trouble with the dowel pins. I took, some pb blaster, cargo straps, and a lot of wrestling to get it loose. I didn't quite have enough time to start bolting the new one back up, so I decided to go ahead and undercoat where It would be difficult to when the tranny's back in. One question though: what is the best way to clean out the cooling lines?

glad you got her out.

remove the check valve.
i'm no expert, but i would just blow them out with air. put a rag over the end, as it'll make a mess. blow out the cooler too.

while the transmission is out, inspect your freeze plugs on the rear of the block and heads. if there's any doubt about their condition - replace them. maybe replace them anyway.

I had to fight pretty good. In a final, p****d off rage, I yanked the transfer case back and forth and the driver side pin popped loose. The next one was easy. I'm headed out this morning to get er done!

Also, I checked my freeze plugs. They look new!

i agree with the just use air, and a rag over the end,,.. glad you got it... now should be easy.. also, inspect all your lines, make sure there are no kinks or binds in your lines...
