I have used everything from brake clean to a dedicated flush gun for transmissions{kooler klean I think} and havent had to many issues. On my own stuff I just add an external cooler and completly disconnect the radiator cooler.I really have had bad luck with liquid to liquid coolers in the past.Blowing it out with air probably works just as good.A return line filter will catch what you miss.Check your flexplate and gear for wear and cracks.I usually put in a rear main seal if the vehicle has a one piece seal while
I am in there.

Good advice, I use compressed air to clean the lines. I also bypassed the radiator cooler and installed a large external on the front of the a/c condensor.

I had a bad experience once when the radiator cooler sprung an internal leak and mixed transmission fluid with the engine coolant. Ever since then, I bypass them and never a problem.

The deed is done and I am worn out!
I used compressed air on the lines...but forgot the rag. lol It was a big mess.
I had a little scare with a bad sound in park after first start up, but she just needed some more ATF. My linkage to the transfer case may need some adjustment. The truck popped into 4x4 on the highway, but back into 2wd when I hit a bump. I think I will also need a new flex plate. The new transmission has a recessed area at the bottom of the bell, so there is a gap between the bottom of the bell and flex plate. Other than that, everything seems copasetic. And it only took three long, aggrivating days.

good t hear you got it in, good luck getting the bugs out of it. as far as your line needing to be adjusted, are you talking about the detent cable (tv cable)? just curious, if it is, be careful adjusting that, only do it in very small amounts, too much in either directions will be bad bad bad in the long run

I meant the shift linkage. I'm not touching the tv cable because the kickdown seems to working fine.

No, thankfully, the flex plate only covers the bottom of the bell housing and I've removed it so many times, I'm border-line Nascar pit crew with it. lol

Umm, I think you mean inspection plate? The flexplate is the big round thing with teeth.
