Check Valve?
Alright, Ive read a few threads on the whole check valve delete. But whats the true answer? Is it safe? Anything ill have to do extra? (Put it in nutral before I take off?) I just want to know before doing it.
Thanks,

perfectly safe.
the purpose of the check valve is to prevent fluid drainback from the cooler, and possible delay in getting pressure everywhere it needs to be. on the downside, its a restrictive point that's responsible for a lot of transmission failures. since cutting mine off, i've had drainback occur only twice, and the only problem that causes is the transmission slips for about 10 seconds until the pressure builds.
there's a diy that has a fairly elaborate process to replumb it. i just hacked mine off with a tubing cutter while adding a cooler and remote filter.
either way is fine, as long as you're happy and have no leaks.

I've never had to put mine in neutral, or do any other routines before driving off ,,, But some guys do.
Take the plunge and do it, $40 in parts maybe an hour or 2 of time, well worth it for a guaranteed unrestricted flow of tranny fluid.

get the filter kit with the 90* fittings for a cleaner installation. the straight up fittings create too much hose clutter. i mounted mine on the inner filter.

You can also just buy $5 worth of high pressure trans hose and hook up to the radiator fitting for the tranny cooler and to the line. Check valve delete without the $40 in fittings. Just my 0.2 cents.
I spent $5 on the fittings.
