Default Front end malfuction

Was driving down the road today about 35 mph, all of the sudden it felt just like I had a front tire blowout.
I coasted into a gas station expecting to see a blown tire, but the tires were all fine. Did a quick check under the vehicle, nothing looked amiss.

Something was wrong obviously, you just don't get that blowout feeling for nothing, so I decided to try to limp home.
Truck rolled, but over 25 mph it started vibrating something awful, so I limped home, about 4 miles away, at 20 mph.

It was getting close to dark, I put the truck on a cement pad to jack it up.
Looked again underneath with a spotlight, still couldn't see what the problem was.
Jacked it up and got one tire off, the passenger side tire a lug is seized on the bolt. I had the feeling I was about to twist the bolt off, which is what I'll probably have to do tomorrow to get it off.

So as of now, its a mystery what went wrong. Nothing obvious like a broken coil, floating tierod or busted shock ,,, I'm doubting if it was ball joints. Put new ones in about a year ago, and if I busted a ball joint I doubt if I'd have been able to limp anywhere at any speed.

So I'll post back tomorrow when I get a chance to look at it, anyone want to take any lucky guesses in the mean time, feel free.

I would guess wheel bearing or a control arm is busted. Isn't your truck 2wd?

Yessiree, 2WD.
All guesses sound perfectly feasible so far, hopefully will know the cause early this evening after work.

Actually I have been noticing a progressively worse front end vibration for quite some time, only between 25 and 30 mph, so chances are whatever failed has been trying to warn me for months.
Lazy *** me let it slide, I was thinking it was a busted tire belt, and was about to get a new set when my taxes came in.

Dunno about the trac - I thought the wobble was pretty much limited to HD, lifted and trucks with oversized tires ?

I thought track bars were only on 4x4 trucks.
