Well, I love this truck, and I love Dodge, but I am leaning more and more with parting with it. So far I have replaced the Waterpump, Alternator, Stearing Gear, Lower Ball Joints, Shocks, Tires, etc... And being in college all of these repairs are really putting a strain on the checkbook. I know I also have a 50/50 chance of the transmission taking a **** at any given time which doesn't put me at ease seeing I have no where near the money for a replacement if it does decide to take a poop on me. Anyway, here are some recent pics I took today if I decide to put it on auto-trader and craigslist.

Nice looking truck. If you plan on selling it and getting another used vehicle then you could start the repair headache all over again. You've repaired alot of the common problems with Rams so it could be a dependable vehicle for you.Everything is a gamble though so go with your gut.

Well im going to tell you what every one tells me, if you're happy with it keep it, if you're not then sell it.

Trust me man my truck is a ****box and i would love to have another 3k to buy a new 2nd gen, but i dont got that kind of money right now and i'v done ALOT of work to my truck and it's still giving me problems, i can honestly tell you man the only dependable car or truck is the one that's in the junkyard because then you know it cant get any worse.

Nothing is dependable and the people who just get in an drive an never have that lil voice in the back of their head telling them what if it breaks, those people dont know jack about cars or trucks. Long story short man you can have a truck roll off the lot and get on the free way and have the tranny drop right out of it, or you can buy a 500.000 mile truck and have it last for a life time. there's a 50/50 chance with everything.

Thanks a lot guys. I agree with you guys completley, and i have pretty much replaced all that can be replaced, other than a new trans and motor. Maybe I am just paranoid. I am split between keeping or selling it and my old race bike and buying another truck with a little lower mileage and more dependability. I found a black used Lightning in my area with Leather Interior, Tow Package, and 49,000 miles for only 13k. But I do love my ram, was my first vehicle back in high school.

Lighting's are junk, you would be goin from the frying pan into the fire if you did that.

That truck is grosely over priced and is built like ****, they are known to blow head gasket's at the 20k mile mark and usually when that happens it ****s up alot of other junk.

Thanks cowboy!

I don't know, maybe the early 99-2000 Lightnings, my dad is the service manager at the Ford Dealership in town, so parts wouldn't be an issue. He has never seen any issues with the lightnings if driven responsibly, and not used for race only applications.

The reason I have the dodge, is that it was actually my brothers old work truck, and I bought it myself for 5k back in fall of '04. It took a lot of fanesse to get it into the presentable shape it is in now. And there is still a few dents that eat at me.

Got a question for you guys, back in 07' I replaced the dash with the new mopar one that isn't supposed to crack. But ever since then it has crackled and rattled beyond belief when going into turns or over the slightest bumps, it really bothers me. Do any of you guys have the same issue? I am contemplating on ripping the dash off and placing weather stripping where plastic touches plastic.
