when i took mine out i pulled and the injectors came out of manifold and stayed on rail....where the injectors connect to the rail, there are black clips that lock them in place, make sure you dont lose any of them....they will pop right out of the manifold..take out black clips to separate from rail..i had no problems taking mine out

Thanks! Just needed some clarification on how they came out. Not sure when I am doing this. Will try to update when I do.

it is easy. Just unbolt everything and make sure you bleed the fuel system before you do that.

Easy way to start a fire:
1. Spray gas everywhere in a dirty engine bay with leaves and stuff in it
2. Finish what you are doing in 2 hours then drive the car.

I had to replace a wiring harness ebause i started a fire under my truck doing something similar. Be careful and spray down the engine compartment with water when you are all done.

Instead of this talk about depressurizng the fuel system, why not just pop the injectors and rail out as one and set it off to the left side without disconnecting the fuel line.

Actually yes. Why not? The same is done with the A/C compressor with disconnecting the lines. The same could be done with the fuel rail. The is enough fuel line to just lay it by the brake booster. The fuel injectors aren't going to spray any fuel. I guess point out the negatives of this.

Cause the pressure in the rail will cause the fuel to dump out when you pull out the injectors. Whole point in releasing the pressure

he probably did not read the part about REMOVING the injectors.

Instead of cleaning them....get these:

don't forget to get a set of the EV1 connectors for them.

They are 4 hole injectors instead of the stock 1 hole. Loved them on my old truck, and i will be installing these on my 2001 very soon. I am just lazy.

True, there will be pressure in the fuel rail. But if the rail and injectors are removed as one, no fuel should spray out unless the injectors are actually removed from the rail.
