Those pulleys fit fine on the stock dampner, dont know why billy would tell you that.
Ive swapped the pulleys back n forth a few times both na & running boost without issue.
Crank goes on tight but rubber mallet does the trick fine![Wink](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Only reason I swapped dampners was for the 408 cause of it being internally balanced & 360 is external balance.(using sfi 5.2 dampner/5.2flywheel on 408)

if you could tell me exactly how you put the dampener on, it would help.

on a stock truck, it will not drain anything.
Now, if you have a MSD ignition BOX, twin electric fans, amped sound system...you might be running a bit low.
I had one on my 86 Camaro, pretty much everyone with a 5.0 mustang has an underdrive crank pulley.
Crank pulleys are a good addition to a motor when all you want to do is bolt ons. They really add to the power gain if you have already done some mods:
1.7s, headers, fuel, ignition.....
I am doing my crank pulley only because I got a deal on the pulley set (85 bucks for crank/alt/water pump). Otherwise I would have waited until I got new heads.
I would rather do the crank pulley than the electric fans. Just because the clutch fan is more reliable and pulls a lot of air. And it is much less expensive.

Here is a good read:

Upgraded headlights, electric fan...doesn't work well with the larger alternator pulley (larger comes with the kit).
Here is what the Southeast Custom guy did:

Just get the crank and don;t underdrive the alt pulley.

Yep -- the alternator won't make anywhere near enough output at idle. It's better to get the smaller alternator pulley to match the crank pulley so the alternator speed at idle doesn't change.
