Just buy a superchips programmer and plug it into your truck, this will overwrite the death flash program.

 

superchips only works from 96 to current, wont work on 95-94

 

The newest Superchips tuners actually only work on 1999 and newer, maybe 1998.

1996 and beyond, you still have the SCT option. A tad more expensive, but better. Custom tunes.

1994 to 1995, your only option is sending the PCM to a tuner for custom programming, or purchasing a Mopar Performance PCM.

 

Most likely, your 1994 or 1995 truck wont even have the Death Flash.

 

my truck has deathflash. what tuner should i buy to wipe it out and give me some cutom options that doesnt cost 1000.....if there are any?

 

Look for a Superchips 3815 or 3865. They come up used on ebay and Craigslist for about ~$200 all the time.

 

The plenum sux! But I did just pull my intake in 2 1/2 hours...

I have a 94 and I recently did a PCM swap on it... Both of them say the have the "software update"... Both were from a 94 mine reg the other was EXT cab... Only difference.

I have no mods and even with a bad plenum it still could spin the tires... Smoke them like crazy!!! lol

Tomorrow I am putting the intake back on... As well as a Poorman's TB.
We shall see how it works... I didnt use a hughes replacement only bc Ive heard a few bad stories... Id rather fab one up... This is just a quick fix. Im doing a complete overhaul in a month or two...

 

I'd recommend buying local.

I bought a 3815 off ebay, and in the description it said very plainly that the truck was set back to stock before he sold it, and that it worked "like brand new". So I got it in the mail, and of course it's VIN locked. Ended up paying superchips $100 to unlock it. I filed a complaint with ebay as it very plainly said it was unlocked, and they took the sellers side (wtf?), I appealed and yet again was denied.

Nonetheless I was a little pissed off about it, ended up paying about what it costs for a new one after that :\

 

What the hell was even the point?
