stuck at 2000 rpms help

Default stuck at 2000 rpms help

I was driving and my cummins acellerated on its own up to 2000 rpms and will not come down under it. you can rev it up high put will not come back down. I have a couple of codes po230 seems to stand out the most the other is a map sensor code any ideaS?

the code you show is for a fuel pump relay, i'm assuming this is the pump in the tank and not the injection pump, get a haynes manual and see where this may be located and replace the relay. that's where I would start.

i wish it were that simple the code is supose to be for a bad lift pump but i got plently of fuel pressure it is driving me nutts

i know this sounds stupid but check the cruise control solinoid. i have had two dodge trucks one gas and one diesel both have done it to me the solinod would stick and the truck would just take off. i had to unhook the solinoid cable from where the throttle cable mounts if thats any help
