Cause like many of us he needs his truck for work, and how did he know that his lugnuts were loose until it happened. He has been driving with a bad fuel pump which he knows about so he is keeping off the highway. that doesnt seem like much of a hazard to other drivers.

He is going to try and fix this when he can and will have lugs tightened before going anywhere, plus you really think he would want his truck to get wrecked over a wheel falling off.

I dont know about you but I need my truck almost everyday, and Im lucky that when my truck is not working I can take my dads truck to work.

Yak I would look at studs and lugs and if they look like they need to be replaced go to the junkyard and get some off a truck there, they will probably be dirt cheap

Holy crap i hope you are not serious? Not much of a hazard to other drivers?
Tell this guys family:

or these people:

I understand he didnt know it was a problem until it happened. BUT he now knows there is a problem and continues to drive the truck. I thank god I dont live anywhere near him, nor have any family near him!!

The easy answer is: Park the truck until it is fixed!!

Now that being said I have a spare hub bearing assembly off a 95 Ram 1500. He can have it for the price of shipping.

^ big truck tires are a hell of a lot different than a pickup truck tire.... sure you are correct that it could still be a bad situation, but we risk our lives everytime we get in a vehicle. Accidents do happen, but I'm sure he is smart enough to know if he's gonna lose a wheel. I've almost had a front wheel come off an old car I had and trust me, you have plenty of time to slow down if it starts to loosen. Some of you guys are reading WAYYY too much into this. I agree that he shouldn't drive it until at least the studs and nuts are replaced, but give the guy a break, this just happened like yesterday...

You have a good point though, I'm not raggin on ya

Again, that is all I am saying...park it until it's fixed.

My offer stands for a free used replacement if a 95 will fit whatever year his truck is. I would prefer to give it to someone who truly needs it, then to have it sit in my garage.

I know a gal who's sister was waiting on the corner to catch a bus. While waiting there in a residential area for her school bus to come pick her up, a vehicle lost a tire and, it went rolling down the hill and ended up hitting her in the back of the head killing her. The chances of that happening-1 /1M but, it happened.

So, residential speeds or freeway speeds- it doesn't matter- that moving mass can be deadly-period.

Toss it in one of the flat rate boxes from usps and your talking a tad over $10. That is a very nice gesture! Wish there were more like you around

Don't get me wrong guys, it's not like I want him to go out with a wheel falling off and kill someone, I just think that since he is a mechanically inclined type of guy who knows his way around that truck, that he'll have the common sense to know if something is going wrong. A loose front wheel will have no trouble being quickly noticed...

Those vids of the semi tires comin off however are a little different than this situation. Most big trucks have 22 wheels on them, 10 on the tractor and 12 on the trailer, some more, some less. And the truck drivers are legally obligated to make sure all 10 lugs on each set of wheels is torqued properly, to the tune of 500 ft lbs. (my dad owns 4 trucks so I've torqued alot of big truck tires ) Even with the much stiffer regulations on safety for commercial drivers, things like that can still happen. you never know when an accident will happen, that's why they're called accidents...Those truckers wouldn't even know in most cases that they lost a wheel until they are stopped and have a look. It is unfortunate, but freak accidents like that do happen, albeit much less often these days than in the past.

Yak dude maybe you should take pashtrd up on his generous offer and get that damned thing changed before I start makin enemies on yer behalf lol

You are absolutely correct it is around $10.70 i think for a flat rate box, and I think it would fit in that size box. worst case it is like $15 for the bigger box.

I gotta agree too, on the offer, and i would help anyone out if i had "Good" reusable extra parts around that would help any of you guys out on here, im not looking to make money but just pay shipping and that's fair enough, to help someone out , and we all hold on to parts for "JUST IN CASE" (PACK RATS)you never know sitiuations, i hold on to all my old stuff that i think i could reuse if something happened. Rather see it put to good uses and help someone out.
