Hey monte c, I'm upgrading from a 3 friction front clutch to a 4 friction front clutch. The FSM say to have a clearance from .067 to.134 inches. How much clearance do like to have it at. By clearance I mean the space from the pressure plate to the top of the wave snap ring. Thanks again. BTW my gap is at .100 inches

I do some. I stopped working on them because people didnt want to pay for the amount of labor i put into them. I work on them for my close friends and for myself now.

have you had to seat axle seals on the dana 44? ive ruined 9 seals, and put 13 hours into trying to get my pass. side axle seal in...nothing works....i got the drivers side in, in about 2 minutes.

Sorry my post was a little confusing. Run the direct clutch (front clutch) at .080". Run the forward clutch (rear clutch) at .025".

I added my specs for the the forward clutch in even though you didnt ask for them.

What type of driver are you using to put the seals in? Are you sure its the correct seal. And make sure the housing isnt buggered up.

I have a 2001 1500 5.9 4x4. About a week ago I started to have problems with 3rd to 4th shifting at a higher RPM. I then started to notice that from 2nd to 3rd was doing the same thing. There was no flare of the engine when this was happening. Shortly after that I had the CEL come on. I continued to drive on the interstate for another 10 Miles. When I exited and came to a stop I started and it would not shift out of 1st. I pulled into my drive way and read the CEL codes. I had an o2 code, Multiply cylinder misfire codes, and 2 transmission codes. The 2 transmission codes are P1740 and P1756. If I did my research correctly they are (TCC Or OD Solenoid Performance) and (Governor Pressure Not Equal To Target At 15-20 PSI). I let the truck sit until the next weekend to fix the engines problems so I could get an accurate read on the Transmission problems. I finished fixing all of the motor problems and cleared the CEL. After I finished that I proceed to check the usual things for the Transmission. Checked Trans Oil for color, smell, and particles...OK. Checked oil level in Neutral after it was up to temp...Ok. Checked the Shifter linkage...OK. Checked the Throttle Linkage...OK. Adjusted the Front Band...OK. Test drove the truck and when it was cool it would shift through all the gears at a higher RPM than I though it should. After the Transmission was up to temperature it would not shift out of 1st. The CEL has not come on again. So my question is: Could this be the pressure solenoid from your post? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ng-issues.html
And also the TCC and OD Solenoids? Is there something else I should check?

Thanks in advance for the info
