it wont idle. i have to hold the throttle on the carpet for it to start and keep going at all. and yes loud sucking noise. I think im going to take the cat off tomorrow (straight headers) and try to start it.

ok i did a little research on the IAC and came up with this:
now if this is correct the IAC is probably not my problem since the truck barely runs with the throttle fully applied.
IAC is responsible for idle control when your foot is completely off the gas and the throttle plate is closed. you can rule out the IAC by laying your foot on the pedal and cracking open the plate. you have a different problem where it won't even run at full or partial throttle.

. And yeah I'll probably take out the O2 sensor and try it first but if the cat is the problem I'm taking it off to get it gutted anyways. Is the O2 sensor located on the top side of the cat? thanks for the reply's guys, big help!
