Snow plow!
So it looks like this coming winter my 1500 will go under the knife. I will be putting a 7'6" snow plow on the front of it. I'm tore between boss snoway and snowdogg snow plows. I have been quoted 4k for a boss plow 4600 for the snoway and 3600 for the snowdog. There prices are new plows installed out the door on the truck. But I have also been checking out used meyers stuff as well. Saw some set up's on ebay for 2400. But its all used stuff but the wiring and plow mounts are new.
This plow will be used for my drive way and I plan on picking some accounts up as well to help off set the costs.
Just wanted to give everyone an idea on were my truck is headed after some heavy duty axle work. 4.56 gears rear locker and truetrac for the front.
Guess we shall see how long it takes my truck to **** out a tranny and some ball joints.
Parents are also paying for some of the plow. We were going to buy a snow blower but for a few thousand more I deceided I'm going to plow with my truck. Still don't really want to but.... guess I am.
LET THE FLAMES BEGING!

Nice! When growing up in snow country they were always appreciated. Haven't even thought about it in a while since I'm living over here in balmy Seattle now though. Growing up we lived way out in the boonies and were always the last to get plowed by the county. The neighbor had one and would keep the local neighborhod nice and clean. I seem to recall him saying the plow was beating the hell out of his old Chev 3/4 ton though. It sure was a quick way to clean up a big mess though, especially if you have a long driveway or something.

Personaly I think a lot of it is how you drive the truck/plow. If you run it hard and smash and crash into things of course its going to beat it.
Now if you take the time to mark driveways and go slow and take it easy it wont be such an issue.
I have been doing a lot of reading on plowsite.com.
Plus I have a 8ftx 200ft driveway. Last winter really killed cleaning all that drive off by my self. Dad always works when it snows. Mom aint leaving the house and rightly so sister watches me work.

Yeah you probably right. It's all in how well you drive and how careful you are. I know as ADHD as I can be I'd have that sucker ripped off the truck in one night on the job as I tried to plow at 55mph. Speed bump, fire hydrant? Well there aint one there now..Don't look at me.
SEriously though, 200' driveway? You must look like Arnold Schwarzenegger with all that shoveling you musta done as a youngin. lol Your gonna really love that plow I bet.
