So i am going to put together a t3/t4 turbo kit for my truck, running an internal wastegate set at about 8 pounds of boost, just wondering if anyone has done this, and if so, or even if not whats your thoughts on this idea,

also i have a 01 sport model 1500, missing a center cap, silver about 2.5 inches across, anyone has one they will sell me let me know plz

Well heres the original turbo, on a 99 eclipse i had, i yanked the turbo before i sold it, so i already have the t3/t4 turbo, just have to buy a weld on plate to mount it on the exhaust since they dont actually produce a turbo kit for my truck, i plan on removing the cat on it, and mounting the turbo in there, so all i really have to buy is the plate to mount the turbo onto the exhaust, the oil feed and return lines, and have a shop run the piping from the turbo back up to the intake, and install a blow off valve, so im looking at minimal costs in reality, 8 pounds im assuming should be fine on a stock motor,

EDIT: I am hoping that with that long of a run to the intake and being that far back on the exhaust i can eliminate the need for an intercooler,

thats why im running such a small turbo too, i spooled it at about 3000 rpm in my eclipse, so im assuming i should start spooling at about 1000 in the truck, as the volume of exhaust is so much greater

do yourself a BIG favor. Ditch the turbo. buy yourself a pro charger and save yourself a million and one headaches.

I thought that intercoolers were used because the air heats up as it is compressed, which is a greater effect than the acutal temp of the compressor, so it would not matter where you had the turbo the air would still heat up. Is this true or does the temp of the compressor have more of an effect on air temp than the compression?

I assume you don't use the truck offroad? If you do you should locate the intake for the turbo up in the engine bay. Also can water splashing directly on the turbo crack the housing?

haha i know it must be a V8 thing, everyone wants to super charge, i know its more reliable, but i like the turbo, i already have a laptop, and all the tuning software as well as a chip burner, boost control, etc, The thing with a procharger is you can only upgrade the pulleys so much, as with a turbo, a spin of the ****, and i can run as much boost as i want,
