Default Performance transmission?

I am looking to install a Procharger ATI Supercharger kit for my 01 Ram 1500 2wd, i had some transmission problems, front bands were slipping, all i did was replace them but can i trust the rest of the transmission as it is factory, with 250k on it. i am just asking if there is a transmission that would best perform for the supercharger, as with the 318, it only puts out 8-10PSI boost, comes with all i need, the aux. fuel addon to my factory fuel pump, and a fuel controller in cab. and i am expecting that down the road to have a new top end to keep up with all this. I guess my question is, What's the best suited transmission for performance in my Ram?
P.S I am not the type to do massive burnouts, and show off. i expect to keep this truck for a period of time, and i am only looking into a supercharger for fuel economy related needs. NOT performance. all though the performance is a bonus, as i am hauling scrap and vehicles all the time.
Thanks.
EDIT: i am also getting Flowmaster Super 40 series cat-back stainless steel duals, for sound, and supercharger; which also comes with intercooler.

Theres a difference in a stock 46re and a built one from a performance transmission company like PATC or APS

Sounds like a question MonteC would be able to answer. I would ask him. He could tell you what's best for your situation.

The only problem I have with Dr. Evil is that he won't list certain things he did to the tranny.

^x2, reason I went with PATC (Ramzilla stgIV)

250k miles too much to add boost, or is that km & 156k miles? If km still getting up there.

Few things your should know before doing anything.
Everything should be in top running order if adding boost.

You want to have good/even compression across all cylinders
Good headgaskets (Felpro 1008 minimum)
Heads that arent cracked, Magnums tend to crack between valve seats
Kegger (intake manifold) has a plenum gasket underneath, it is major weak spot. Probably 1/2(or more) of the Magnum engines out there leak by mileage you have.
If yours isnt leaking already, very strong chance it will start leaking as soon as you start making boost. Need Hughes plenum kit under it at least.

Tranny, forget stock. If your hauling scrap & towing vehicles you are putting the trans under a lot of strain already.
If adding 50-55% more rwhp it will reduce the stock trans lifespan greatly.
Performance trans needed, very strongly suggest you get a deep pan w/temp gauge & extra cooler even if you have one already.

MPG will go down not up. BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption) for an NA magnum is around .5lbs fuel per hp per hour.
Boosted that needs to be increased to about .6-.65lbs per hp per hour. Thats because boosted motor will ping more, especially if carrying/towing loads.
AF ratio WOT na should be in the 13.2-13.5range stock, boosted it will need to be 11.5-12.0 to stay safe.
You wont start going from vacuum to boost till at least 2100-2200rpms I would guess with the 5.2 & a P-1SC with 2core intercooler.
Off the line from idle till you start to see boost the rwhp will be lower than you have now. Cost power to spin up the extra weight of the supercharger.

5.2 stock isnt exactly a good choice IMHO to add boost to. 50mm tb, hdrs & 1.7rr be a good idea to help the motor off idle.
Going to a dyno & getting wide band readings is a must to dial in the tune of the Aeromotive DFMU to get the fuel trims right.
They tend to be safe so you will be running richer than needed.(mpg even worse). Being stock 5.2, could be very rich.
Even with dyno tune Id strongly suggest getting both electric fuel pressure gauge & a a/f gauge with wideband o2.

I have a D-1SC & 3core intercooler. Tons of pics of the install(05pics & slips) at my website (click my sig pic)
